Getting to Nelson
By Air
The Nelson airport is very small and is for charters and helicopter flights only. The Castlegar airport is a 30 min drive. The Cranbrook airport is a 3 hour drive. There is BC Transit bus and taxi service from Castlegar to Nelson.
By Rail
Amtrak's closest stops are in Whitefish MT, Sandpoint ID, and Spokane WA.
GNRHS has organized a shuttlebus charter from Spokane for $131.25 each way. Depart to Nelson Friday, Sept 18th afternoon. Return to Spokane Thursday, Sept 24th. Details available through GNRHS.org.
